Youth Ministry

Our church believes strongly in the importance of youth. We do our best to make sure that our children receive instruction in God's word, and how to lead Godly lives, as well as offering the opportunity to grow closer to Christian friends. While some churches use "youth" or "children" to mean different things, our church uses them interchangeably, and does its best to incorporate all minor ages in activities. We have an especially strong ministry for elementary to pre-teen ages and often have activities for the youth to engage in outside of the church-grounds for fun, especially during the summer time. Our dedicated teachers do their very best to make sure our children are well taken care of, and are learning and growing together. Our youth minister oversees the instruction of the youth, the children's worship service and also organizes activities for the children outside of the church worship. During the worship service while adults are hearing from the pulpit minister, the children have a worship time in which a lesson is geared especially toward their unique perspective. If you have children and are thinking of coming to worship with us, your child will be welcome both during "Bible Class" and during the worship service.

"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12 (New King James Version)

Senior's Ministry

The senior adults at Oak Hill Drive are a vital part of the ministry and programs. Senior adults are involved as leaders and volunteers in most of the programs and activities of the church. Our church also has a seniors outreach event once a month at Oakmont in Escondido where we bring communion, song, and a Biblical message to those members of the community who are unable to attend a worship service at a church building, but would like to continue to lead Christ-centered lives.

"Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life." Proverbs 16:31 (New International Version)

People’s Needs Ministry

Our Church does its best to keep necessities like canned goods and some clothing articles in stock for those who are in need at our church. The generosity of Oak Hill members in their donations to support those who are suffering financially is truly remarkable and moved by the ultimate generosity of the Lord Himself. As a church, we strive to do our very best to make sure that the needs of our flock are met in every way. We do our best to secure the mental, spiritual, physical, and financial well-being of our family by working together in giving of ourselves in all the ways in which the Lord calls us to do so. We support one-another

Prayer Ministry

Our church believes strongly in the power of prayer to effect real changes in the world. We make it a point to pray during our worship, and at home for various things. We encourage our members and visitors to pray regularly. Jesus tells us to pray often as was His own example. Christians are told that the prayer of a righteous person can do many wonderful things and that the prayers we give in Jesus' name will be heard by God through the intercession of his Son. God has given us all many talents, and for some, the quiet life of humble prayer is one of them, and quite a valuable one at that. If you have a need that can be met by prayer, please let us know and come visit us so that we can pray for you. If you find that you are called to a life of prayer as your gift, we welcome you to pray for our Church and its members.

"Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;" Colossians 4:2 (New American Standard)

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6 (New International Version)

Education Ministry

Our church believes strongly in the need to educate both the young and the old. If you come to visit us and worship with us, please consider arriving at 9:45 so that you might be able to enjoy the rich learning environment our church offers. Adults as well as children have classes geared to their specific needs, and instruction created to better serve their minds and spirits. Our teachers work diligently to ensure that you receive the most biblically sound and culturally relevant instruction we can possibly provide. We strive to be excellent in our education of Christian minds.

We also have groups that meet on Wednesdays, either at the church facility or in private homes, as was often the occasion of the early Church members. This is an additional time for instruction and fellowship where members can be enriched and grow in the Word.

"Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:20

"Let the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your hearts and make you wise. Use his words to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts." Colossians 3:16 (New Living Translation)

Fellowship Event Ministry

At Oak Hill, we treat one-another like family. We want to stay close to our brothers and sisters in the faith and we do the best we can as a congregation to make sure that we are given plenty of time to meet together as Christians and friends. To that end, and because of our wonderful fellowship house which contains a full kitchen; we set up special times throughout the year when we meet together to share food and drink. These can be pot-luck meals, where everyone brings their favorite dish, or themed events. Pot-luck and other food events are normally held following the close of morning worship at about 12PM on Sunday. We are very blessed to have many wonderful ladies who donate their time to cook, prepare, and organize these events. Generally, we will have at least one after-service fellowship a month. If you wish to visit during that time so that you might enjoy a fellowship over food and drink with us, please contact us, and we will let you know when our next event will be.

"They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Acts 2:42 (New American Standard Bible)

"Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins." 1 Peter 4:8 (New American Standard Bible)

Office Ministry

Our church office is dedicated to making sure that our members are always kept abreast of the goings-on in the church. We are able to provide each member and visitor who comes to worship with us a bulletin which comprises the order of worship that Sunday, complete with songs and scripture readings, so you'll never be lost! We also include lecture notes for the sermon, as well as a way for everyone to make prayer requests and more. The office also concerns itself with maintaining a proper church directory so that everyone can stay in contact even away from our Sunday meetings. If you become a member at Oak Hill, you will be kept in the loop about all of our activities via our state-of-the-art e-mail and telephone tree operation.

Building and Grounds Ministry

The purpose of the Oak Hill Drive Church's Building & Grounds ministry is to keep our building and its surrounding areas looking presentable and beautiful for our members and visitors. Our church is blessed to have been placed in a prime area on the corner of Ash and Oak Hill Drive, giving it a prominent spot, and therefore, making maintenance an important part of the Church. Our Church has two buildings above-ground, the main Sanctuary, and the Fellowship Hall. Below-ground, we have facilities for the education of children of various age groups. As an added bonus, the building also has access to some woodland area which is sometimes used for children's activities.

Church membership donate their time to help keep the building and grounds clean and kept presentable. We serve each other humbly by making sure everything is in the best possible order for the convenience of our brothers and sisters and beloved guests. It is important at Oak Hill that everyone feel like 'family' in the body of Christ which meets there, and so if you come to visit us, you will not get just a Sermon and Sacrament, but a beautiful facility as well, kept up with love.

"For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness." Psalms 84:10
